British Airways has unveiled details of a multi-million pound redesign of New York JFK’s Terminal 7.

New CGI images offer a glimpse of what the terminal will look like following investment of more than £52 million.

Set for completion by the end of 2018, the redesign will feature a new check-in concourse with a separate Club World and First area, updated lounges, and a refresh of The Concorde Room, available to First customers. There will also be new gate seating with additional power outlets and retail shops in the duty free shopping area.

The terminal will also introduce an “authentic New York culinary experience, with local food and beverage concepts” inspired by the city’s street food scene, such as burgers and gourmet sandwiches.

British Airways operates 20 flights a day between New York and London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports.

The carrier recently opened its new First Wing at Heathrow T5, as part of a £400 million investment in lounges and food for premium customers.

Earlier this month BA also unveiled images of its revamped lounge at Boston Logan International airport, to co-incide with the launch of the carrier’s A380 superjumbo on the route.
