United begins direct flights to Xian

11 May 2016 by Clement Huang
United Airlines has launched a direct flight service between San Francisco and Xian – the Chinese city’s first non-stop transpacific route. The service operates three times weekly: flight UA853 departs San Francisco every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 1325 and arrives in Xian at 1730 the following day. The return flight, UA852, takes off from the Chinese city on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0930 and touches back down in San Francisco at 0635. United has timed its inbound flights from Xian strategically to allow passengers to connect conveniently at San Francisco International Airport. The Star Alliance member operates more than 250 daily flights out of the Golden City to more than 90 destinations throughout North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. The San Francisco–Xian service is operated using a B787-8, which features a two-class configuration, with 36 seats in business and 183 in economy – of which 70 are designated as Economy Plus seats that come with extra legroom. The launch of the new route bolsters United's presence in China, where it also serves flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Hong Kong. For more information, visit united.com Clement Huang
