7 Dec 2013 by Tom Otley

There are delays today at a number of UK airports as a result of problems at Swanwick.

The National Air Traffic System (NATS) centre at Swanwick has released a statement blaming a technical problem.

It said: "Due to a technical problem at Swanwick we are currently experiencing some difficulty switching from night time to daytime operation. This may result in some delays for which we apologise. Engineers are working to rectify the problem as soon as possible."

There are delays at Heathrow, Stansted, Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Luton and London City airports. For more details, visit the BBC here.
