icenspiceParticipantWow travels for fun, you have been to ETZ! Were you diverted?
Where is BOO?That’s interesting FDOS, after a 10-year interval I flew to Munich last year and didn’t recognise the place.
MrMichael, Funchal here I come!
Edited: I definitely haven’t been to the old Munich airport. My first flight there was in 2002 and last year I must have landed at the new terminal.

travelsforfunParticipantHi icenspice, if I can use a new airport to get somewhere – and it’s not too much more expensive, not too much more of a detour, or a detour I can justify with an interesting stop en route – then I’m rarely able to say no!
So, I flew to ETZ Metz/Nancy when I was visiting a German friend studying in Nancy – as French cities go, an absolute hidden gem. I flew there from London with a night in Lyon (but then travelled back direct from Luxembourg).
BOO is Bodø in Northern Norway – a stop for most SAS flights from Trondheim to Tromsø.

AsiaPacificParticipantThe lists get longer ,,, making me feel an amateur.
My first flight was in 1969 as an 11yo from Essendon Airport ( Melbourne) unaccompanied to London …
Still remember it .. was in a BOAC VC10 and stopped at Syd, Darwin, Hong Kong, India ( can’t remember where ) Tehran , Rome , London.
Took a long time .. abt 32+hrs I think … on my way back via USA – seem to remember seeing my first 747 in early ’70 at JFK – a Pan AmDid the same again in 1974 … was a bit faster and think its was a 707 then …
Where and when was yr first flight … ???

batterytravellerParticipantMy flightdiary, which only goes back to about 2000, has me at 83 unique airports, which is the same as the number of times I have passed through Melbourne. I’m missing a few from the diary, though.

MartynSinclairParticipantI am stuck at 97 airports using scheduled airlines
Airports with ICAO codes but using non schedule commercial flights adds 46 more airports
If heli ports are allowed then I can add another 3.
Most frequently used airport – London Heathrow, followed by Bangkok
Most efficient & friendliest airport – Northolt
Top of my wish list to visit airports – Lukla and Pyongyang
Other Airport wish – to play or caddy on the golf course between the runways on a very busy day at Don Muang
First Airport /Flight I can remember is Heathrow to Paris on a BEA Trident sitting with my parents and brother in facing seats with a table..

canuckladParticipantGreat minds think alike Martyn
When I arrived at Don Muang I couldn’t believe my eyes, …..definitely wanted to play there, although with my occasional slice….. If I’m not mistaken, it’s limited to golfers of the military persuasion?
First flight was when I was 6 months so alas I can’t remember my first airport experience.
Airports on my bucket list……….all pretty self-explanatory : )Barra
Papa & Papa Westray
St Marteen
Vancouver city centreAnd once I’ve finished my time machine, Kai Tak

BackOfThePlaneParticipantStripping out the duplicate airports, if you took all the unique airports that everyone on this forum has been through, well, (and I’m not going to count them) that would be one hell of a World Airport Panel.

LuganoPirateParticipantMrMichael, I meant on the BCAL flights to HK. I think of the 10 flights I did with BACL 7 were go arounds there.
If to Madeira where I go fairly often, I would have been in the back as well, with my eyes firmly closed 😉
