Radisson Collection adds second Rome property

Radisson Hotel Group has opened its fourth property in Rome and the second under its Radisson Collection brand in the Italian capital.

The 84-room Radisson Collection Hotel, Roma Antica Antica is built around the restored Palazzo Lares Permarini, with visitors able to view archaeological remains in the basement of the property.

Radisson said that during the renovation of the palazzo “A fragment of the ancient perimeter wall of the Porticus Minucia from the imperial era was uncovered, allowing for a first of its kind reconstruction”.

Features of the hotel include Carrara marble bathrooms, Fornasetti wallpaper and wooden floors in the bedrooms, as well as all day dining restaurant Modius, and a rooftop cocktail bar with 360-degree views of the city.

The growing Radisson Collection brand now has six hotels in Italy, including Grand Hotel Savoia Cortina d’Ampezzo, A Radisson Collection Hotel, Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice, and Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Touring Club Milan.

Last year the group opened the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, housed within the 1960s former headquarters of Allianz Italia.
