Hilton is to open the first UK and Ireland property under its extended stay Home2Suites brand next year.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre will be located close to the city’s O’Connell Street, and will offer 214 king studio suites and 76 one-bedroom suites with full kitchens.

There will also be a multi-functional lobby and communal space, with guests benefitting from a complimentary daily hot breakfast.

Intriguingly the property will also feature “an integrated fitness and laundry room, so guests can exercise whilst waiting for their laundry to finish”.

Hilton has more than 650 Home2Suites properties worldwide, the vast majority of which are located in the United States.

The move follows the unveiling of Hilton’s new lower midscale extended stay brand LivSmart Studios earlier this year, as the major hotel groups increasingly focus on the extended stay sector.

Hyatt launched its upper midscale Hyatt Studios brand last year, while Marriott unveiled its affordable midscale StudioRes concept.

Commenting on the news Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said:

“We are excited to announce the debut of Home2 Suites by Hilton in Western Europe, marking a significant milestone for the brand as it gains momentum in the region.

“As we explore opportunities for further expansion, the growing demand for extended stays presents an exciting opportunity to cater for the evolving needs of travellers in the region.

“We look forward to welcoming guests to this new property and redefining the extended stay experience.”
