Abu Dhabi-headquartered hotel management company Rotana has confirmed extensive expansion plans for Saudi Arabia.

At the recently concluded Saudi Tourism Forum (STF), Rotana announced that it will open eight new properties in the kingdom over the next four years.

These will include four Edge by Rotana properties, one Rayhaan by Rotana in Riyadh, a Dar Rayhaan by Rotana in Al Khobar, an Al Manakha Rotana in Madinah, and an Edge by Rotana in Al Baha.

These openings will take its total key count within the kingdom to 4,400 across 16 properties.

“With ambitious developments and plans at hand, Rotana’s continuous engagement showcases our commitment to shaping the future of tourism in the vibrant Saudi Arabia market,” said Eddy Tannous, Rotana’s chief operating officer.

Rotana currently operates 74 hotels in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Türkiye, serving more than six million guests per year.

Its portfolio at present spans 19,237 keys and six brands, including 10,159 keys across 36 hotels in the UAE and 2,200 keys across eight hotels in Saudi Arabia.

Across the wider GCC region, Rotana’s regional pipeline for 2024 includes Onyx Arjaan by Rotana in Manama, Bomonti Arjaan by Rotana in Istanbul, Riviera Rayhaan by Rotana in Doha, and Luxor Rotana Resort in Luxor.

Additionally, Rotana is expected to make its debut into the Algerian market with the launch of Azure Rotana Resort and Spa in the port city of Oran, while Bloom Arjaan by Rotana on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island is scheduled to open this year.

Rotana to bring Centro brand to the UK

Beyond the GCC region, Rotana will expand significantly in the UK. Last year it confirmed that it would open its first properties in the UK, with the development of up to 1,500 keys under the Centro brand in greater London. It includes a 31-apartment new-build Centro Kingston on the north edge of Coombe Road scheduled to open in 2024.

Globally, Rotana plans to reach 28,000 keys across 120 operating hotels by 2030.
