UAE-based hotel group Rotana  has announced plans to open its first properties in the UK, with the development of up to 1,500 keys under the Centro brand in greater London.

The first two hotels are confirmed for New Malden and Kingston, with the 70-apartment Centro New Malden set to open this year across from the town’s rail station, followed by the 31-apartment new-build Centro Kingston on the north edge of Coombe Road in 2024.

Rotana describes Centro as an “affordable hotel brand”, and said that the properties would be “fully digitally driven”, with a platform which will “not only enable guests to seamlessly navigate the property, but will also integrate local restaurants, with the option to order or dine in, as well as interact with neighbouring cultural attractions and services”.

The news was announced at this week’s Arabian Travel Market, where Rotana also unveiled plans to reach 28,000 across 120 operating hotels by 2030.

“Launching in two vibrant locations in London, both properties will welcome guests to enjoy the diverse offerings of the city while having unique living spaces that provide both finesse and functionality.
