Norse Atlantic Airways has confirmed it will not resume flights from Gatwick to Washington DC and Boston this summer.

The routes were launched in June and September 2023 respectively, but were suspended for the winter season, and there was uncertainty as to whether flights would restart this year.

The carrier has now confirmed to Business Traveller that neither route will resume, with a spokesperson stating that the decision had been taken “following an evaluation of the current demand which was lower than anticipated”.

The airline added that “We have therefore decided to focus on other routes between the US and Europe next summer”.

Gatwick-New York JFK will increase to up to two flights per day during the peak summer season, and Norse is also set to operate a summer seasonal Athens-JFK service between 30 May and 26 October this year.

There has also been speculation the carrier will launch flights between Gatwick airport and Las Vegas this summer, but Norse Atlantic told Business Traveller that “Despite reports we have no plans to launch services to Las Vegas at this time”.
