Royal Jordanian Airlines is expanding its global network with the launch of two new routes to the UK.

The oneworld member airline will introduce direct routes between Amman in Jordan to London Stansted and Manchester from March 2024, with a flight duration of approximately five hours.

RJ will offer four weekly flights to London Stansted from 3 March, 2024 followed by three-times-weekly flights to Manchester on 6 March, 2024.

The two routes will make the sixth and seventh addition to the airline’s European network, following the launch of flights to Lyon, Milan, Stockholm, Dusseldorf and Brussels over the past ten months.

Royal Jordanian’s CCO Karim Makhlouf said:

“Our new routes to Manchester and London Stansted will make it easier than ever for tourists from UK to discover Jordan’s incredible wonders. Promoting and driving tourism to the Kingdom is a key focus of our new corporate strategy – as is our emphasis on further developing Amman as the primary gateway to the Levant by offering improved connectivity to our broader network.

“These newest routes are yet another step-in line with RJ’s ambitious five-year growth plan, which includes increasing our current fleet of 24 aircraft to more than 40 aircraft in the coming three to five years.”

Chris Woodroofe, managing director of Manchester airport, added:

“Our ever-growing range of destinations directly connects the people of the region with some of the most exciting and interesting places around the globe – and that now includes Jordan thanks to Royal Jordanian Airlines.

“Amman is one of the world’s most fascinating cities and is a gateway to the whole Levantine region. International travel is all about opening up the world and being able to travel to Jordan from Manchester in just a few hours opens up the opportunity to explore ancient history in Petra, eat amazing food in Amman, enjoy stunning beaches in Aqaba.”

Gareth Powell, London Stansted’s managing director, also commented:

“We are delighted to announce the addition of another exciting destination to London Stansted’s network, giving our passengers more choice with a world-class airline. People from the East of England and London will now have the chance to explore this beautiful country flying from their local airport.”
