Hilton has opened the 1,000th hotel under its select service Hilton Garden Inn brand.
The milestone property is the Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport City Mall in Costa Rica, located a three-minute drive from Juan Santamaría International airport.
Features include a heated outdoor pool, The Garden Grille and Bar, fitness and business centres, and a complimentary airport shuttle service.
The Hilton Garden Inn brand was launched in the 1990s, and the first UK property opened near Luton airport in 2008.
It is the group’s second largest brand behind Hampton by Hilton (which has around 2,500 properties), and has a presence in around 60 countries and territories, although the majority of Garden Inn hotels are located in the US.
Hilton highlighted other recent openings including:
- Hilton Garden Inn Busselton in Western Australia
- Hilton Garden Inn San Juan Condado in Puerto Rico
- Hilton Garden Inn Balikesir in Turkey
- Hilton Garden Inn Padova City Centre in Italy
- Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek in Naimbia
- Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Business Bay
- Hilton Garden Inn Pensacola Downtown in the US
The brand also debuted in Japan last year, with the unveiling of the Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma.
There are some 300 properties in the Garden Inn pipeline, with openings in 2024 set to include Hilton Garden Inn Guilin Yangshuo, Hilton Garden Inn Panama City Downtown, and Hilton Garden Inn Bologna North.
