Ryanair will operate flights between London and Cornwall this winter, having decided to extend its summer seasonal service.

The low-cost carrier launched its route between London Stansted and Cornwall Airport Newquay in summer 2023, as part of a roster of 25 weekly flights from the Cornish airport.

And the airline said that “having seen such strong demand, we decided to bring it back for the winter season too”, with a twice weekly service returning on 17 December.

Ryanair said it will offer its biggest ever winter schedule from Newquay, with a total of five routes to Alicante, Dublin, Faro, Malaga and Stansted.

The Stansted service will compete with Eastern Airways’ year-round flights between Cornwall Airport Newquay and Gatwick, which operates under the government’s Public Service Obligation (PSO) arrangements.

Newquay-London route secured

Newquay welcomes several seasonal routes during the busy summer period, but the only other year-round services are Belfast City and Dublin with Aer Lingus, and Aberdeen, Isle of Man and Manchester with Loganair.
