Ryanair has set a new record for the number of monthly passengers, with 18.7 million customers carried in July.
The figure compares to the 16.8 million passengers flown over the same period in 2022.
It is also the first time in the airline’s history that it has carried over 18 million customers in one month – the previous record was 17.4 million in June this year.
Rolling 12-month passenger figures to the end of July stand at 175.3 million – up 23 per cent on the same stage in 2022.
Ryanair recently published its financial figures for the quarter to 30 June, 2023, showing a profit of €663 million for the period – up from €170 million for the same quarter in 2022.
The group expects to carry 183.5 million passengers over the 2024 financial year, and hopes to have taken delivery of a total of 173 of its Boeing 737 Max 200 aircraft by March next year.
Earlier this year Ryanair placed an order for up to 300 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, worth up to $40 billion at list prices.
The deal comprises 150 firm orders and further 150 options, with delivery scheduled between 2027 and 2033, as the group targets annual passenger numbers of 300 million by 2034.
