PPHE Hotel Group has announced a March 2024 opening date for its long-awaited Art’otel London Hoxton property.
Business Traveller first reported on plans for the hotel way back in 2008, and planning consent was granted by Hackney Council for an improved and final development scheme in 2019, with funding secured in 2020.
The 357-room hotel will feature a 25th floor destination restaurant, as well as a ground floor café and bar with outdoor terrace, and a first floor restaurant, bar and lounge.
Other facilities will include an indoor swimming pool, a spa with four treatment rooms, sauna, and steam room, and a skyline gym on the 26th floor.
Rooms and public spaces will feature works by urban artist D*Face, from “original large-scale sculptures and murals to bespoke details”, and there will also be two Banksy original artworks on public display.
The hotel will be located on Rivington Street at the junction with Old Street and Great Eastern Street, around five minutes’ walk from Old Street rail and Underground station. Rates are set to start from £400 per night.
Art’otel London Hoxton will join the recently opened Art’otel London Battersea Power Station as the second UK property under the brand.
Existing Art’otel locations include Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne and Zagreb, with a 99-room Rome property also set to open in 2024.
