EasyJet has announced a total of 15 new routes from Birmingham for summer 2024, as the airline continues to grow at the airport.

Earlier this year the low-cost carrier announced plans to open its ninth UK base at Birmingham, with three A320 aircraft being based at the airport from March 2024.

The airline has now confirmed that the move will allow it to launch new routes to Barcelona, Tenerife, Antalya, Berlin, Jersey, Malaga, Sharm El Sheikh, Rhodes, Alicante, Dalaman, Corfu, Heraklion, Larnaca, Tunisia and Kos next summer.

Package holidays are now on sale for the new destinations, with flight sales set to open “in the coming months”.

The new routes will add to easyJet’s existing network of 13 domestic and international services from Birmingham.

Ahead of the launch of the new base the carrier is also set to start flights from Birmingham to Paris CDG on October 30.

Commenting on the news Ali Gayward, UK country manager at easyJet, said:

“We are delighted to announce our network expansion for our new base in Birmingham, which will create around 100 direct jobs for pilots and crew and over 1,200 more indirect jobs.

“Investing in a ninth base in Birmingham further strengthens easyJet’s network by positioning it as the carrier of choice to serve UK consumers and capture the continued demand for travel, further growing its share of the UK leisure market for both the airline and easyJet holidays.”
