Accor and joint venture partner Ennismore will unveil the first property under their luxury SO/brand in the Middle East later this summer.

The 188-room SO/ Uptown Dubai is scheduled to open in August, and will be housed within the 340-metre-high Uptown Tower.

Features will include a swimming pool, a spa in partnership with Anne Semonin Paris, a 1,000-capacity ballroom, and F&B options including Asian Fusion restaurant The Citronelle Club, Uptown Brasserie, Savant Bar and Lounge.

There will also be 227 branded residences occupying the top 28 floors of the tower.

The SO/ brand is part of Accor’s Sofitel family, and was previously known as So Sofitel – it now falls under the Ennismore lifestyle division following the merger between the two groups in 2020.

Last year the 162-room SO/ Paris opened in the city’s Morland Mixité Capitale complex, set on the banks of the River Seine in the city’s fourth arrondissement.
