Low-cost carrier Air Arabia has announced the launch of its fifth Russian route to Samara from Sharjah in the UAE.

The new flights will begin from October 1, 2023, between Sharjah International airport and Kurumoch International airport in Russia and will operate initially as thrice weekly services.

“We are glad to announce the launch of our new route to Samara, which further expands our footprint in the Russian market,” said Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia.

Apart from Samara, the other destinations in Russia that Air Arabia flies to from Sharjah include Ufa, Kazan, Yekaterburg and Moscow.

Beyond Russia, Air Arabia also recently announced that it will commence flights to Bangkok from June 30 onwards.

Air Arabia reported a net profit of Dhs342 million for the first three months of this year ending March 31, 2023, an increase of 17 per cent compared to Dhs291 million registered in the corresponding quarter in 2022.

Also, more than 3.9 million passengers flew with Air Arabia Group between January and March this year across its seven operating hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, Armenia and Pakistan, which also represented an increase of 59 per cent compared to the same quarter of last year. It added nine new routes to its global network from its seven hubs during Q1 2023.
