Oneworld member carrier Qatar Airways is slated to induct Airbus A350-1000 long-haul aircraft that feature just 24 of its signature QSuite business class seats, down from the 46 QSuites the airline has on its current A350-1000 fleet.

The new Qatar A350-1000s will have four Qsuites across six rows between doors one and two.

The original configuration had business class extend beyond door two.

With this new layout, Qatar Airways is growing the economy cabin on its A350-1000s, from 327 seats currently to 371 seats going forward.

The economy configuration will remain a spacious 3-3-3 setup.

Based on current flight schedule data, the first route to see Qatar Airways’ latest A350-1000 configuration is Doha-Denpasar (Bali)-Doha starting August 1.

Qatar Airways has 19 A350-1000s in its current fleet, with another 23 of the widebody aircraft on order from manufacturer Airbus. These operate alongside 34 smaller A350-900 aircraft.

The airline and Airbus recently settled their legal dispute that saw all A350 deliveries to Qatar Airways suspended.

Separately, Qatar Airways confirms that it is currently running a promotion whereby travellers may purchase its Avios frequent flyer miles with a 50 per cent bonus.

The promotion started on May 7 and will run through May 11.
