Oneworld alliance member Alaska Airlines is offering double miles for travel on partner Qatar Airways for flights completed by June 30.
Registration via the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan website is required.
All revenue booking classes are eligible for double miles.
Alaska Mileage Plan members accrue miles at 225 per cent for travel in business class, and 350 per cent for first class travel before status bonuses.
Those holding MVP tier – the lowest Alaska status one can hold and equivalent to oneworld Ruby – will earn an additional 50 per cent of distance-based miles on top of the aforementioned rates.
Those holding Alaska’s highest tier – MVP100K – will get a whopping 150 per cent additional miles on top.
For a Hong Kong – Doha – London roundtrip in Qatar Airways business class ticketed in the ‘R’ fare bucket, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan base members will earn 14,352 regularly, and 28,704 miles under the double miles promotion.
The double miles do not count toward Mileage Plan elite status, and they may take four to six weeks to credit to Mileage Plan accounts.
