Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Bahrain, has confirmed that it will begin operating flights to Ras Al Khaimah on October 3, 2022.

The service will commence with two weekly flights, with an aim to establish year-round scheduled operations between Bahrain International airport and Ras Al Khaimah International airport.

GF 0550 will depart from Bahrain at 8.05am and land in Ras Al Khaimah at 10.35pm. GF0551 will then take off from Ras Al Khaimah at 11.35pm and land in Bahrain at 11.55pm.

“We look forward to adding Ras Al Khaimah to our network of seaside destinations and increasing our UAE points to three with Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” said Zayed R. Alzayani, chairman to the Board of Directors of Gulf Air.

Recently, the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) announced a new strategic airline partnership connecting the emirate in the UAE with major cities in Germany, including Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Munich. Starting from November 1, 2022, Corendon Airlines will operate seven direct weekly flights to Ras Al Khaimah.

Also, RAKTDA revealed last month that it had witnessed its highest visitor numbers since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, with the emirate reporting visitor arrival numbers in line with pre-pandemic footfall across the first six months of 2022.  Ras Al Khaimah welcomed over 521,085 international and domestic visitors between January and June 2022, an increase of 21 per cent over H1 2021 numbers and a return to pre-pandemic figures from year-to-date June 2019. It now has over 8,000 keys, with 4,617 new keys in the pipeline over the next few years.
