Yotel has announced plans to open a hotel in London’s Shoreditch area this April.
The property will be a rebranding of the East London Hotel on Cambridge Heath Road, and will undergo a light refurbishment to incorporate Yotel’s signature design and technology features.
The 161-room hotel will include self-service stations, enabling guests to check-in “in under a minute”, and customers will be able to use their mobile devices as Smart Keys.
There will be several room categories, including double, twin, family and interconnecting rooms. The property will also house a bar, restaurant and co-working space which is accessible via the high street and hotel lobby.
Yotel London Shoreditch is located less than three minutes’ walk from Bethnal Green tube station, and within walking distance of London Fields, Broadway Market and Columbia Road.
The new hotel will join the group’s existing property in London’s Clerkenwell, which opened in 2020.

Hubert Viriot, CEO of Yotel, commented:
“Being able to secure two franchise deals in under three months is testament to the growing strength of the YOTEL brand and its increased relevance in delivering low-touch high-tech hospitality experiences.”
“As with YOTEL Manchester, YOTEL London Shoreditch contributes to the more than 1,200 keys in our UK portfolio and is testament to the continuation of our hotel conversion strategy as well as our expansion plans in the UK and Europe whether through franchise or hotel management agreements. We are looking forward to emulating this strategy in other cities around the world.”
Yotel London Shoreditch is owned by Crestline Investors Inc. and Avelios Investors, and will be managed by Michels and Taylor.
The opening will mark the group’s fifth city centre hotel in the UK, second UK hotel conversion (the Qbic Manchester rebranded as a Yotel property last year) and the 19th hotel in operation globally. The group is set to debut in Miami this spring, followed by Geneva “later in the year”.
