Kempinski Hotels has opened its 21st luxury property in China, located in the city of Jinan in the Shandong province.

Kempinski Hotel Jinan is located at the top of the 339-metre-high Yunding Building in the city’s financial area.

Jinan sits south of the Yellow River and is referred to as the City of Springs. The hotel’s design by Wimberly Interiors draws inspiration from these natural surroundings, with a colour palette of emerald greens and gold accents, as well as nods to the traditional ‘Six Arts’: rites, music, archery, chariot-racing, calligraphy and arithmetic.

The 314 rooms and suites are located on floors 55-70 of the building and each include a walk-in wardrobe, a dining area, a working desk and “deluxe European-styled bedding”. Wide French windows provide views of the city’s skyline and patterned carpets give the sense of running water.

The hotel will include four restaurants and bars. All-day dining is available at The View on floor 53, while authentic Qi-Lu dishes are served at Spring Palace Chinese Restaurant, which is themed with calligraphy from the ‘Six Arts’, traditional Chinese paintings and Jinan-styled ceramic artworks. The restaurant also has seven private rooms.

The hotel also offers afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge and a variety of cakes, sandwiches, freshly brewed coffee and crafted drinks at the European-style café Deli.

The property includes over 3,600 sqm of meetings and events space across seven banquet rooms and multifunctional conference rooms. Additionally, the hotel has independent wing buildings and a 1,600 sqm roof garden.

In the future, the hotel will add a health centre and spa on floor 51, which will include an infinity pool, gym and yoga room.

It has a unique and convenient location, being only a 30-minute drive from Yaoqiang International Airport. Guests can use the hotel’s exclusive airport limousine service when arriving at Jinan Yaoqiang International airport.
