Marriott International will open its first AC property in Orlando later this month, located in the city’s downtown area.
The 180-room hotel occupies eight floors of the Suntrust Plaza Building on Garland Avenue, and is set to open on January 12.
Marriott says interiors at the AC Hotel Orlando Downtown have been “curated for both business and leisure guests”, with “a refined neutral beige colour palette, underscored with darker tones and granite accents”, and rooms fitted with smart ambiance controls which adjust the temperature and lighting.
Facilities include a fitness centre, AC Store for “on-the-go snacks”, three meeting rooms, Skybar Rooftop Terrace serving “Spanish-inspired tapas and bites, artisanal cocktails and local craft brews from its 18th floor perch”, and AC Kitchen offering “a European-inspired culinary concept”.
Marriott has been steadily growing the AC Hotels brand since it formed a joint venture with the Spanish group back in 2010, reaching over 155 properties in more than 20 countries and territories.
Commenting on the news general manager, Bobby Copeland said:
“As the first AC brand hotel in Orlando, our team is eager to deliver an experience that combines the thoughtful design and inviting atmosphere synonymous with AC Hotels with a warm, distinctly Floridian flair.
“My hope is that the introduction of the AC Hotel Orlando Downtown paired with innovative, locally influenced programming will carve out a unique niche in a city with undeniable energy.”
