Mandarin Oriental has signed an agreement with the Al Khozama Company to manage the Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh in the first quarter of 2021.

The hotel group will rebrand the property as the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah, Riyadh, following the completion of an extensive renovation of the guestrooms and public area by the end of next year.

The hotel is located in the Foster and Partners-designed Al Faisakaih Centre, a mixed-use building in the city’s Central Business District.

The property comprises 321 rooms and suites, with interiors by New York-based firm Adam Tihany Design. Facilities include several restaurants, lounges and bars, including a top floor venue with views of the city, and meetings and events space.

On the leisure front, the property has an indoor swimming pool, male and female spa areas and a fitness centre.

Khalid Abuhaimed, CEO of the Al Khozama Company, commented:

“The Al Faisaliah Hotel has been a leading light in Saudi Arabia’s hospitality sector since opening its doors 20 years ago. We are pleased to be partnering with Mandarin Oriental to further develop the hotel and to create the most luxurious and sophisticated property in the region.”

James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, added:

“We are delighted to further strengthen Mandarin Oriental’s presence in the Middle East by introducing the brand to Saudi Arabia and bringing the Group’s legendary service to Riyadh.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Al Khozama Company in transforming the hotel into the city’s most exclusive luxury property.”

This news comes after the hotel group announced earlier this week that it will re-brand Zurich’s historic Savoy Baur en Ville hotel in 2024.

Mandarin Oriental currently operates 33 hotels and seven residences in 23 countries and territories.
