Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club programme is offering a bonus of 2,000 Virgin Points when members opt to auto-exchange Tesco Clubcard points.

The offer follows the recent decision by Avios and Tesco to terminate their partnership in January, leaving the Flying Club as the sole option for conversions of Clubcard points into airline loyalty currency.

Flying Club members will receive 2,000 bonus Virgin Points when choosing to auto-exchange, as well as being placed into a three-month prize draw to win one of 15 prizes of 40,000 Virgin Points.

According to Virgin Red (which manages the newly-launched Virgin Points currency), Clubcard holders should visit tesco.com/clucbcard, sign in, scroll down to ‘Voucher Schemes’ and then select the ‘Virgin Points’ box to opt-in to auto-exchange.

Commenting on the news Richard X Moore, Virgin Points spokesperson, said:

“We know Clubcard members love to travel and haven’t been able to get away this year which is why we’re delighted to offer them this exclusive deal.

“The Flying Club is proud to be Clubcard’s travel partner – offering reward flights across Europe and beyond – with Virgin Points that never expire.”

As reported earlier today, Virgin Atlantic is currently offering 50 per cent off Flying Club reward seat redemptions, as part of its Black Friday promotion.
