Airports Authority of India has initiated upgradation work at Jabalpur Airport in Madhya Pradesh, to cater to growing passenger traffic.

The project will be carried out at an estimated cost of ₹412 crore.

The redevelopment includes the construction of a new terminal building, ATC tower, category VII fire station and extension of the runway.

Spread over 10,700 sqm area, the new terminal will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities for passengers. The building will have three aerobridges, advanced baggage screening system and well-planned car parking for more than 250 cars and buses.

The terminal will be suitable for AB-320 aircraft type.

The interiors will feature vibrant Gond paintings (form of painting from folk and tribal art), local handicraft and will highlight popular tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh.
