Etihad Airways has published a new video detailing the travel experience that customers can expect with the carrier in the post Covid-19 era.

The video has information on the Etihad Wellness Ambassadors (which we reported on earlier this month), as well as details on self-cleaning escalator handrails and no-touch lift controls at Abu Dhabi airport.

Etihad is also set to launch a new ‘Fit to Fly’ self-service check-in and health screening service at the airport, which will include the reading of travellers’ heart rates, “respiratory system” and temperature.

The data will be analysed and customers will then either be allowed to move onto check-in, or whether a “secondary assessment” is required. Thermo cameras will also check temperatures at immigration.

Boarding will now be carried out row by row “to ensure that queues don’t form”.

Perhaps somewhat optimistically, the video ends by stating that “the future of travel has never been safer… or more exciting.”
