Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos’ visit to India has caused quite a many stirs in the country. One was when he announced that the company would create a million jobs in India.

Recently and secondly, he has also announced Amazon’s plan to deploy 10,000 electric delivery rickshaws across the country, after successfully completed the trails in 2019. The rickshaws would be sourced from automotive startup Rivian and are said to be operational across 20 cities by 2025.

The company is placing a lot of emphasis on its environmental vision, which fit in alongside its #climatepledge announced back in September 2019, in which Amazon plans to be completely carbon neutral by 2040.

Here is a video of Bezos taking the electric rickshaw for a spin.

“The 21st century is going to be an Indian century,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said last week during his visit to India, where he announced plans to leverage Amazon’s profile to help create a US$10 billion market for Indian exports by 2025.
