Audible, a leading seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken-word content, has announced the launch of Audible.in, that offers dedicated media service to Indians.

The launch was marked by a performance on Audible’s marquee production, “Mafia Queens of Mumbai” by three Bollywood artists – Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, and Kalki Koechlin. Written by an investigative journalist, Hussain Zaidi in collaboration with Jane Borges, “Mafia Queens of Mumbai” explores the untold stories of powerful women in Mumbai’s underworld.

Donald Katz, Audible CEO and Founder said, “Honoring India’s distinctive literary and storytelling tradition and supporting the creation of vibrant local content, Audible.in is a dedicated, authentic and dynamic destination for Indian consumers that puts Indian talent and spoken-word content front and center. I am proud of the content that was produced for our Indian launch. It started with choosing the right literary work, creating art, music and of course casting the right performers- we are thrilled to bring together three of India’s most talented actors for this project. Millions of listeners around the world already turn to Audible to enhance the character and quality of daily life, and we look forward to delivering an even richer and more culturally resonant listening experience to our Indian customers.”

Currently, Audible offers a broad selection of more than 200,000 full-length audiobooks and original programmes. This includes a selection of 400 Audible-exclusive titles by leading Indian authors.
