Hyatt has announced the signing of its first property in Czech Republic. Under this, the Sugar Palace hotel will be revamped into Andaz Prague. The hospitality brand has partnered with UBM Development AG for this property which is scheduled to open in 2022.

Expressing views on the brand’s decision to choose Prague for further expanding its European presence, Takuya Aoyama, vice president development, Hyatt said, “Prague has been a popular destination particularly since the Velvet Revolution 30 years ago.

“This city of Mozart, Mucha and Hrabal continues to inspire people to explore its rich offerings. With the addition of Andaz Prague, we are excited for Hyatt to have a brand presence in the three imperial cities of Europe – Vienna, Budapest and Prague – and grow our opportunities to cater to the luxury demand.”

Located at Senovážné Square, Andaz Prague is a short walk from the popular Old Town.  This 175-key hotel will highlight the rich heritage and history of the Czech capital.

Three dining outlets, a 450 sqm event space, a fitness centre and a spa are some other features of this hotel.

In addition to this Czech property, Andaz’s presence in Europe is strengthened by the launch of two new properties this year— Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor and Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere, which joined Andaz London Liverpool Street and Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht.
