Dusit international opened its first DusitD2 hotel brand in Davao City on September 6.
Located 15 minutes drive from Davao International Airport in the district of Lanang, the property has 120 guest rooms and suites. Facilities include the Dusit Thani Grand Ballroom, adjoining function rooms, a courtyard swimming pool with children’s pool and play zone, the Madayaw Café all-day dining restaurant, a lounge, a spa, and a Fitness Centre. Dusit’s Benjarong Thai Restaurant will open soon, said the hotel.
Designed by Philippine architect Manny Samson, and inspired by “the vibrancy of life”, Dusit International said the hotel has been “carefully crafted to reflect Dusit’s unique brand of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality while also embracing the cultural richness of the destination”.
DusitD2 Davao hotel is one of three new projects Dusit International has signed to manage for real-estate company Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation (TLDC) in Davao. The hotel said it is also set to open Dusit Thani Residence Davao, and The Beach Club at Lubi Plantation Island soon.
Dusit Thani Residence Davao had its soft opening this month. It is located next to DusitD2 Davao hotel and includes 174 residences and suites for short and extended stays.
Meanwhile, The Beach Club at Lubi Plantation Island (which soft opened in December 2018) is an island retreat just off the coast of the Davao Gulf (10 minutes by boat from Pindasan Port). The resort offers a swimming pool, children’s play area, a spacious events hall, and the Tarictic Grill & Snack Bar. A watersports and diving centre is set to open soon.
Dusit International’s property portfolio now comprises 271 properties (nine owned and 262 managed) operating under six brands across 13 countries. The company has about 50 Dusit branded hotels in the pipeline.
