Thai hotel brand Dusit International plans to open DusitD2 Samyan Bangkok, the first DusitD2 branded property in Bangkok, in June 2023.

The hotel will offer 181 guest rooms along with facilities such as a lobby bar, a swimming pool with a children’s pool, a fully-equipped fitness centre, all-day dining restaurant with a daily buffet breakfast and a selection of international cuisines. DusitD2 Samyan Bangkok will also have a meeting room equipped with audio-visual equipment.

The hotel group said in a press release that a hotel management agreement was signed between Dusit International and Hong Kong-based investment company Tian Teck Property.

“The new hotel is designed to meet the needs of business and leisure travellers alike and offer easy access to major business and lifestyle hubs in this key area of the city,” reads the press release.

Stations for major transportation systems, such as the BTS (Skytrain), MRT (underground), and Express Boat Service can be reached in just five minutes by car, according to the hotel. The hotel says that the Charoen Krung Creative District, which includes local eateries, museums, and art galleries is also just a five minute drive away.

“With its strong connections to major business, cultural and lifestyle hubs, Si Phraya Road is the ideal location for our deluxe DusitD2 brand. We now look forward to delivering a vibrant, modern hotel experience that delights on all fronts and seamlessly links with everything this burgeoning neighbourhood has to offer,” said Lim Boon Kwee, chief operating officer at Dusit International.

The Thai hotel group includes brands such as Dusit Thani, Dusit D2, Dusit Devarana, Dusit Princess and Asai Hotels.

Dusit International says it has more than 50 Dusit-branded hotels in the pipeline and expects to open at least ten to 12 hotels per year in key destinations from 2019 onwards.

Dusit-branded hotels currently operating in Bangkok include Dusit Suites Hotel Ratchadamri and Dusit Princess Srinakarin. In 2023, Dusit will open its new flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel as part of Dusit Central Park, a mixed-use project currently being developed opposite Bangkok’s Lumpini Park.

Business Traveller Asia-Pacific has asked Dusit International for renderings of the new property. The image in this story is of Dusit International’s deluxe room in its Chiang Mai property.
