Indigo has added Shillong as its 54th domestic destination. The low-cost carrier has introduced seven new flights on Kolkata-Shillong and Kolkata-Raipur routes. The Kolkata-Shillong is the new route under the regional connectivity scheme, UDAN.

The airline is deploying its ATR-18 aircraft on these routes. The new flights are designed to cater to leisure and business travellers for affordable flying options.
Celebrating the inaugural flight, Conrad Sangma, chief minister, Meghalaya tweeted:
William Boulter, chief commercial officer, Indigo said, “We are delighted to inaugurate our flights from Kolkata to Shillong and Raipur. Kolkata-Shillong is an RCS route, which will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the north-eastern region.
“With this expansion, we hope to create more affordable, point-to-point connectivity for our passengers. Indigo will continue to offer an on-time, courteous and hassle-free service and affordable flying experience always.”
