Qatar will increase its frequency from Gatwick to three times daily over the summer season, the airline has confirmed.

The flights will be operated by B787 Dreamliners on the following schedule:

  • QR 330 Departing LGW  0850 Arriving DOH 1720
  • QR 328 Departing LGW 1515  Arriving DOH 2345
  • QR 332 Departing LGW 2130  Arriving  DOH 0600

Qatar currently runs 16 weekly flights from Gatwick.

Passengers will receive Qatar’s new ‘Quisine’ economy dining service.

The carrier returned to the airport last May after a seven-year gap. It was initially rumoured that the slots would be temporary, something Qatar’s CEO Akbar Al Baker denied.

Qatar says it has flown 130,000 passengers from Gatwick over the last year, with the most popular network destinations including Doha, Colombo, Bali, Bangkok and Perth.

“We have been really impressed with the performance of the London Gatwick route since the first flight a year ago today, which is why we are increasing our frequency to three flights per day for the summer,” said the airline’s UK and Ireland Country Manager, Gary Kershaw.

“Never before had Qatar Airways launched with two flights per day, so this is really a history-making route for us.”

The airline is also marking a year since it launched flights from the UK’s Cardiff Airport, a route which will run daily over the summer season:
