Marriott’s Delta Hotels to enter UK with three 2019 openings

Marriott International will expand its Delta Hotels brand to the UK this year, with properties opening in  Cheltenham/ Gloucester, Nottingham and Colchester.

The Delta Hotel Nottingham will open in April and has 110 Rooms, 10 suites, 10 meeting rooms and two dining options. It is in the former Nottingham Belfry hotel, northwest of the city centre (pictured below).

Delta Hotels Cheltenham Gloucester is on the edge of the Cotswolds and is the former Cheltenham Chase Hotel, part of the Q Hotels Group. It will have 122 rooms, meeting and event spaces and a spa, and is set to open in June.

The 130-room Delta by Marriott Colchester, Marks Tey is scheduled to open in November.

Renovation plans for all three properties are expected to be released soon.

Nottingham Belfry

According to Marriott, “Delta Hotels provides essentials for the modern business traveller, from rooms that work with free wifi to fitness and dining options that fit seamlessly into the travel flow. Delta Hotels focuses on the details that truly matter to streamline travel.”

It has 61 hotels currently open, and another 37 in its development pipeline.

Marriott has not made an official announcement about the UK expansion, but confirmed the three openings to Business Traveller‘s Tom Otley.

Marriott acquired Canada-based Delta Hotels and Resorts in 2015. It launched the brand in the US in 2015 and has since rapidly expanded in the country. It opened its first European property in Frankfurt last May.
