Thai Airways has offered customers a sneak peek of its business class seat offering on the carrier’s upcoming Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Earlier this weekend, the airline posted a picture on its Instagram account, which showcased a brand new seat design.
At first glance, the look of the new seat seems to share some distinct similarities to United Airlines’ B787 shell design business seats. Both also share a 2-2-2 abreast configuration, but as expected Thai’s seats are velvet purple as opposed to the bluish seats by United.

As previously reported by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), Thai Airways’ Dreamliner will offer 264 seats in a two-class configuration, with 24 in Royal Silk (business), and 240 in economy.
The business class product comes with a 60-inch pitch and 21-inch width, and is able to recline into a fully flat bed. There is also a 16-inch personal screen available.
No word yet on the Thai Airways economy product on the B787, but the airline has stated that it will be arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration, and offer a 32-inch pitch and 18-inch width. In true Thai style, the seats will be gold and purple in colour.
