AA and Delta woo Manchester passengers

13 Apr 2010 by BusinessTraveller
The two US carriers commence direct services from Manchester to New York next month, and are promoting the route with the offer of bonus miles and free chauffeur drive services. Oneworld member American Airlines launches its daily summer service on May 14 (running until September 30), and is offering 10,000 bonus AAdvantage miles for passengers travelling on business class fares, and 5,000 miles for those on economy fares, for flights taken before June 30. Members must pre-register for this promotion at aa.com/offers using the bonus code NYMAN. AA is also offering an introductory fare of £309 return, for bookings made before April 22, and valid for travel until June 30, and then again from September 1. Meanwhile Skyteam’s Delta recommences its daily service to JFK on May 2, and is offering business class passengers (travelling on fare codes J, C and D) a free outbound chauffeur transfer within a 50-mile radius of Manchester airport. Until July 31 the complimentary service will also be available for passengers travelling on codes I and S. The new flights mean that all three of the major airline alliances will be represented on the Manchester-New York route this summer, as Star Alliance carrier Continental current flies to Newark Liberty International airport from the northern city.
