Istanbul is to be Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts newest location.
Turkish conglomerate, Tanriverdi Holding and Shangri-La Asia have signed up to develop a 14-storey luxury property in the Besiktas district overlooking the Bosphorus. Seven floors of the building will be below sea level.
They are targeting the year 2012 for the opening.
Shangri-La Istanbul is among the four hotels to be built in Europe, besides Paris (opening shortly), Vienna and London.
