Starwood will be expanding its footprint in Bangkok with the opening of Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi Golf Resort and Spa, which is slated for a June 2014 opening.
The resort is envisioned as a low-rise resort located between the Suvarnabhumi airport and Bangkok’s city centre. It is the closest five-star resort to the city's main international airport, and is located minutes away from one of the largest shopping malls in Southeast Asia – Mega Bangna.
The new property features 223 guestrooms and suites that come with contemporary furnishings and large balconies overlooking the shaded greens of the 18-hole Nick Faldo golf course.
In terms of dining options, the resort offers a selection of Le Méridien restaurant and bar concepts, including Latest Recipe, the hotel brand’s signature interactive dining restaurant; Favola, a trattoria-style Italian restaurant and Latitude, a bar that transforms from a coffee house during the day, to a modern bar in the evening.
Apart from allowing guest to enjoy a putt-down the golf course, the resort's leisure facilities include a 600 sqm Explore Spa, a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool. There are also six meeting rooms, along with a business centre.
Other future Starwood openings include a Sheraton hotel in the Kazakh city of Aktobe in 2014 (see here), and an Element hotel in Suzhou, China (see here).
