Despite the current unrest in Bahrain, the five-star Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa held its official soft opening on Monday.
The 262-room hotel features a 1,100sqm Grand Ballroom which can host up to 840 delegates for a separated entrance seated event, along with a 270sqm foyer including a 47sqm private Majlis, and a 210sqm pre-function area. It is due to be fully operational by mid-May.
The hotel features a 2,000sqm Thalassotherapy Spa, which focuses on the medical use of seawater for therapeutic ends.
The property bills itself as an exclusive resort that's close to the Bahrain International F1 Circuit, which had been due to stage the season-opening Grand Prix on March 13, but has now been cancelled.
