Background

This is a flagship property of the Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotels Group. The luxury hotel group also has the Parkroyal brand under its umbrella. The group lends its name (ownership and management) to over 40 hotels across the globe.

What’s it like?

As soon as I enter the hotel, I am bathed in a sense of urban sophistication. The lobby is spacious and is characterised by clean lines, modern décor and beautiful pieces of art to complement the spaces. On check-in, I was warmly greeted by my last name by the staff, who, throughout my stay, proved to be exemplary.

Where is it?

The hotel is located at the heart of downtown Singapore, five minutes away from the Central Business District and a 15-minute drive from Orchard Road. The hotel is an easy 20-minute hop from the airport and is also within walking distance from three (interconnected) shopping malls, Suntec City, Marina Square and Millenia Walk.

Rooms

The hotel features 790 rooms spread across different categories including a range of beautiful suites. I stayed in a Harbour Studio, which offered me a breathtaking view of the Singapore skyline and the sea in the distance. The room’s décor impressed me with its understated elegance and exquisite textures and colours, giving me a sense of relaxation after a long day at work. My room lent itself well to a quick business trip, with a large workspace and an ergonomic armchair. The bed was plush and the marble bathroom was luxurious and even had speakers. Other perks of my “studio” included a Nespresso machine, a 32-inch TV and high-speed Internet.

Food and drink

Depending on what you are in the mood for, Pan Pacific Singapore offers a host of dining options. I quite enjoyed my post-work sundowners at Atrium, followed by a Japanese spread at Keyaki. I even tried out Hai Tien Lo, for its famous Cantonese menu, paired with fine wine. If you are craving a taste of home, head to Rang Mahal for Indian delicacies.

Meetings

This property is a quintessential business hotel featuring 2,482 sqm of meeting and event space, with 25 different venues for events of all sizes. Each of these spaces can be configured to your liking.

Leisure

The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool with a gorgeous poolside bar, as well as the St. Gregory spa, which specialises in Oriental wellness rituals.

Verdict

An impeccable business hotel, which boasts a fantastic location in Singapore. It is also a great option for a business-meets-leisure family getaway.
