Marriott Rewards launches member-only rates

Marriott Rewards is launching a new Member Rates benefit for guests booking directly through, or via the group’s mobile app, call centre or approved travel agents.

The move is similar to the recent Hilton Honors “Stop Clicking Around” campaign, which offers members “exclusive room rates not found anywhere else” (see news February 18).

Marriott says the new member-only rates will be “broadly available on April 11”, adding to existing member benefits including loyalty points, mobile check-in and check-out, and free wifi.

Commenting on the move Karin Timpone, Global Marketing Officer, Marriott International said:

“We’re rewarding our loyal members by providing a rate exclusively designed to show them how valuable they are to us.”

“We also want to help dispel the myth that other travel websites offer better rates for our hotels. The simple fact is that you will find the lowest rates across our portfolio when you join Marriott Rewards and book direct.”
