Qantas, along with Oneworld partners Cathay Pacific and British Airways, have opened a new wing to their Los Angeles business lounge offering more room to move, better facilities and a greater spread of dining choices.

The business lounge was opened in June last year (see here), while a separate first class facility began operations in December.

According to Qantas, the expanded section of the Los Angeles business lounge comes with the following features:

  • A dedicated dining area with a large communal dining table equipped with USB and power outlets
  • Seasonal menus by Qantas chef Neil Perry
  • Two buffets and a new do-it-yourself juice bar, along with hot dishes, salads, snacks and desserts
  • A Californian food cart serving tacos and hot dogs
  • A cocktail bar
  • An addition seven shower suites, bringing the total available to 16
  • Six workstations equipped with Apple iMacs
  • Dedicated family zone with children’s furniture, toys and games

Extra seating at lounge

“The completion of this project represents our significant investment in the US market,” said Vanessa Hudson, Qantas regional general manager, the Americas. “We have tripled the space available across both lounges, added more seating and installed a state-of-the-art kitchen. The new kitchen enables us to offer a bigger menu and a greater variety of dining options.”

The Los Angeles business lounge is open to business class passengers travelling with Qantas, Cathay Pacific and British Airways. Gold tier members of Qantas Frequent Flyers and Marco Polo Club are also afforded entry, as are Executive Club Silver cardholders, Oneworld Sapphire customers and Qantas Club members.
