Pan Pacific Tianjin opens its doors

24 Oct 2014 by Clement Huang

Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the opening of the 319-room Pan Pacific Tianjin in China.

The launch means that Mainland China is now the group’s second largest operating market outside of Singapore. It manages four other hotels and serviced suites in Xiamen, Suzhou and Ningbo.

As the largest coastal city in northern China, Tianjin is a mere 30-minutes train ride from the capital of Beijing. Home to some 300 Fortune 500 companies, it represents an important hub for industrial and financial activity.

Pan Pacific Tianjin is part of The Esplanade – a mixed-use development situated along the Haihe River, at the intersection of the key commercial districts of Hongqiao, Nankai and Hebei. The hotel is a 40-minute drive from Tianjin Binhai International Airport and 10 minutes from the Tianjin Railway Station.

Designed by Singapore architectural firm DP Architects and Hong Kong-based interior design house Cheng Chung Designs, Pan Pacific Tianjin adopts hues of gold, blue and grey with earthy textures of wood and stone. As a nod to the local culture, all artworks on the guestrooms’ walls reflect architectural styles found across Tianjin.

Dining outlets include all-day dining at Pacifica, Chinese at Hai Tien Lo, quick meals at Noodle Bar, and light bites at the lobby lounge. Meeting facilities are also extensive, comprising of a business centre, 10 flexible meeting rooms that extend across a 75 sqm floor space, and the 640 sqm Pacific Ballroom. A private meeting room is also available in the hotel’s executive lounge, Pacific Club.

Finally, the hotel also provides several recreational facilities, including complimentary bicycle rental, an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and the brand’s signature Escape by I-Spa.

To commemorate the opening of the new property, Pan Pacific Tianjin is offering a stay at a deluxe city view room for RMB588 (US$96), with breakfast for two included. This deal is valid for stays until December 31.
