ANA and Ethiopian Airlines sign codeshare agreement

20 Oct 2014 by Clement Huang

Fellow Star Alliance members All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement that will see both carriers partner up on several routes.

Pending final government approvals, bookings for the codeshare flights will kick off from October 26. ANA passengers will be able to book connecting flights operated by Ethiopian Airlines between the carrier’s base in Addis Ababa and Bangkok, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Nairobi and Mombasa.

In return, Ethiopian Airlines customers can also do the same for the daily ANA-operated flights between Tokyo Haneda and Bangkok as well as Tokyo Narita and Hong Kong.

As members of Star Alliance, customers of the two airlines will continue to enjoy reciprocal benefits such as mileage accrual and redemption opportunities on all flights.

Meanwhile, ANA will also be boosting its Tokyo Haneda–Hong Kong service from December 20. The Japanese carrier will begin offering 10 weekly flights to the Chinese Special Administrative Region – up from the current seven.

Reservations for the new services are being accepted. The added flights, serviced by the Boeing 767, will run overnight. NH1249 departs Haneda at 0125 and arrives in Hong Kong at 0525. The return service, NH1250, takes off from Hong Kong at 0105 for scheduled touchdown at Haneda at 0555.

The added flights will run on Monday, Saturday and Sunday.
