Starwood Hotels & Resorts will open a W Hotels property in Brisbane in 2018.
The new W Brisbane, which will form part of a mixed-use development, will be located at 300 George Street at the western end of the city's central business district.
The development will be comprised of three towers, with W Brisbane occupying one while the other two will be used for offices, commercial space and apartments. The new-build from developer Shayher Leisure Holdings will also feature retail outlets.
W Bribane will contain 305 rooms, including 25 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite (presidential suite).
It will also feature more than 900 sqm of meeting and event space, a 24-hour business centre, three restaurants and a bar, a spa, a gym and an indoor swimming pool.
W Brisbane will be the brand's first hotel in Brisbane. The move marks its return to Australia after closing W Sydney in 2005.
Sean Hunt, regional vice president, Starwood Pacific Hotels & Resorts said: "W Brisbane marks a significant milestone for Starwood, bringing the dynamic and innovative W brand back to the Pacific Region.
"W Hotels is currently experiencing a wave of growth worldwide and having its presence here in Australia will provide a strong foundation for its continued expansion both locally and across the region."
Starwood will open a W Hotels property in Amsterdam next year (see news, February 5). To read a review of W New York - Downtown, click here.
