Etihad Airways opens new arrival lounge

8 Sep 2014 by Clement Huang

Etihad Airways (EY) has opened the Arrivals Lounge at its base in Abu Dhabi International Airport. The facility is the first of its kind to be operated by airline, and is available for the exclusive use of its first and business class passengers.

Located just after customs, the lounge boasts a convenient location, and offers eligible guests with an area to freshen up before getting on with their day ahead.

There are 10 individual shower units – each fully stocked with bath amenities and linked directly to a complimentary clothes steaming service area. The steaming process only takes 10 minutes, and therefore guests can simply leave their suits or dresses with the attending staff, before proceeding to the shower area.

EY is also offering a new concept inside the lounge. Known as “SHAVE”, male guests can now choose to get themselves a complimentary wet shave by qualified barbers.

Other than the usual amenities of comfortable seating, large screen televisions, reading materials and refreshments, there is also an onsite business centre equipped with a large-screen Apple computer, printer, and complimentary connectivity options.

“This facility, the first of its kind in Abu Dhabi, has been specifically designed to meet their needs and our innovative new offerings, such as the clothes steaming service and ‘SHAVE by Etihad Airways’, will hold particular appeal for guests with early morning arrivals, before hotel check-in hours,” said Peter Baumgartner, EY's chief commercial officer.
