Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has revealed that a Hyatt affiliate has signed a management contract with an affiliate of Boutique Group of Companies to open a new Hyatt Place hotel in Phuket, Thailand.

The new property – Hyatt Place Phuket, Patong is expected to open in 2016 and will be the first Hyatt Place property in the Thai city. It will join three other Hyatt-branded hotels currently in operation in Thailand, including Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin and Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort.

A further three hotels are currently under development, including Park Hyatt Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Bangkok, Sukhumvit and Hyatt Place Bangkok, Sukhumvit.

While little information about Hyatt Place Phuket, Patong has been revealed, we do know that it will be located on an elevated piece of land on the popular Patong beach.

The hotel will also feature 161 guestrooms, and offer a wide range of recreational and business facilities, including a swimming pool, fitness centre, business centre, and more than 225sqm of flexible meeting space. Dining options will include a single restaurant and bar.

“Thailand continues to be an important market for Hyatt, both from a leisure and business travel perspective,” said Ratnesh Verma, senior vice president, real estate and development, Asia Pacific, Hyatt. “Phuket in particular is one of Southeast Asia’s premier leisure destinations, and Hyatt’s expanding resort portfolio is key to creating preference among our guests”.
