1 Sep 2014 by Clement Huang

Lufthansa will become the third carrier to deploy the Airbus A380 to India, following Singapore Airlines (see here) and Emirates (see here) who enlisted the superjumbo on services to India earlier this year.

Starting on October 26, the German flag carrier will operate a single A380 flight daily from its base in Frankfurt to both Delhi and Mumbai.

Lufthansa A380

The Frankfurt–Delhi service will see flight LH760 depart the German city at 1340 and arrive in Delhi at 0130 the following day. Following a two-hour layover, flight LH761 will leave the Indian capital at 0330 and touch back down in Frankfurt at 0720.

Meanwhile, the Frankfurt–Mumbai route will see flight LH756 depart Frankfurt at 1245 before arriving at 0110 the following day in the Indian city. The return service sees flight LH757 leave Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0305 and arrive back in Frankfurt Airport at 0720.

Lufthansa configures its A380 with a three-class configuration, with eight seats in first, 98 in business and 420 in economy.
