Eva Air has taken delivery of its 16th and 17th B777-300ER airplanes.
The Taiwanese based carrier is also the world’s first airliner to operate the aircraft equipped with Panasonic’s Ex3 inflight entertainment (IFE) system.
"We will continue to modernise our world-class fleet with new and innovative technologies, ensuring that our passengers receive the most comfortable and memorable flying experience,” said Eva Air chairman KW Chang.
The IFE system features inflight wifi connectivity, as well as a high-definition video touchscreen at every seat.
All of the airline’s existing B777-300ERs offer a three-class configuration with 38 seats in Royal Laurel (business), 63 in Elite (premium economy), and 211 in economy. The wide-body aircraft is primarily used on the carrier’s long-haul routes to Europe and the US.
With this delivery, Eva Air now operates 17 B777-300ERs, with a further five on order. The airline expects to receive all of the these jetliners by June 2016.
